It was an honour to be selected amongst such a talented group of artists for the latest Contemporary Wearables event. Curated by Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, the Contemporary Wearables Biennial Jewellery Award and Exhibition  recognises and promotes innovation in design and use of materials in the creation of contemporary jewellery and adornment.

16.10.20 – Unleashed 2020: Emerging Craft & Design at ARTISAN

Unleashed 2020: Emerging Craft & Design brings together six exciting emerging Queensland artists whose practices take us beyond the worn and utilitarian to a more complex and challenging conceptual realm.  What might appear initially to be an exhibition of a disparate range of fashion, textiles, jewellery and ceramics are, in fact, a challenging group of objects and installations that interrogate aesthetic form and function, notions of identity and diverse social issues. Look a little deeper, and you will find a refined exploration of visual art tropes, story-telling and performance, still life ceramics, contemporary heirlooms, costumeries, couture, and post-consumer waste. (Artisan 2020)

My work will be displayed alongside Queensland’s up-and-coming, emerging craft practitioners and designers including:

The exhibition will be on display at ARTISAN from 16 October to 28 November 2020.

31.05.19 – Glossy Opens at JCK Las Vegas

Glossy is now installed at The Plumb Club Pavilion at JCK Las Vegas from May 31 and through to June 3. All amazing works (including my feature pieces for the Contours Series) are also available to purchase online at: https://shop.ombregallery.com/glossy/

Glossy features contemporary artist jewelers inspired by the images and messages presented in magazines, also known as ‘glossies,” for the paper on which they are printed. Glossies serve as a vital communication tool for messaging in the fashion industry. The fashion world is often influenced by celebrity, art, films, and literature. Artists are also responding to the material culture around them. From enamel and textiles to diamonds and zippers, the jewelry artists in this exhibition investigate the medium that captures the zeitgeist of our times.

The artists in this exhibition include: Mando Bartlett, Kate Cusack, Heather Guidero, Gabrielle Gould, Mia Hebib, Everett Hoffman, Mia Kwon, Margaux Lange, Maia Leppo, Tara Locklear, Heidi Lowe, Brooke Marks-Swanson, Jennifer Merchant, Jillian Moore, emiko oye, Louise Perrone, Denisa Piatti, Rachel Reichert, Lyndsay Rice, Caitie Sellers, Inbar Shahak, Bridgette Shepherd, Olivia Shih, Olga Starostina, and Rachel Suzanne Smith.
